I. Introduction this note summarizes the addresses for employment opportunities on the world wide computer network for all technical related positions at all levels as far as I am aware of. Especially these positions require nowadays more flexibility and need to be more accessible due to the approach of globalization:

* academia * companies (multinational, national, local; all sizes) * institutes * administration * societies/ associations I would like to invite everybody (employers, employees, societies, students, etc.) to contribute further to the following table. The main goal is a global valuable employment contact beyond the national borders to the best of all (potential employers and employees).

Indeed by far the best updated service (for chemists) is offered by the American Chemical Society [congratulations for such an extraordinary and visionary work: KEEP GOING]. The Job-Bank is currently -like many Job-US-Banks a such remarkable/ outstanding work to provide employment opportunities that it can be taken as one measure for all other societies and services -even job opportunities published by local newspapers are covered once a week. If you have seen it once you don't want to miss the Job-Bank-Service anymore.

Furthermore, it is also clear indication that politicians, universities, companies, associations/societies and many free volunteers can work together to keep perspectives for science and technology at the leading sharp edge. Such a service is highly appreciated and deserves any support it can get also for a global mobile scientific, educational and technical employment exchange across national borders.

The best and shortest article has been written by Stephanie Heacox 'Information Job Hunting through the Internet' for librarians in SEARCHER: The magazine for database professionals. (p. 8-12; 1996). This was also the inspiration for following listing and for many citations out of this article. Although the main focus was initially a potential employment environment for chemistry related positions other technical groups of the global community are invited to join: e.g. electronic engineering, biology, pharmacy, medicinal services etc., because very often an overlap is given and without an interdisciplinary colaboartion we will not progress anyway.

'' Don't overlook mainstream consumer commercial services like American On-line, CompuServe, or Prodigy, as well. All offer at least one or two locations for on-line job seekers, many which duplicate Web sites.'' And don't forget the applicable news-groups. I wish a happy and successful job hunting and hiring.

But don't forget almost up to 70% of job openings will never be published. Therefore it becomes important to get some information (Address, phone/ FAX number, publication and if possible a homepage) from potential commercial/ industrial or academic employer to identify the right ''fit'' in advance.
